Manager of Web Development (central Bristol) TL178

Nomensa needs your ability to lead on Web technology and coding practices, owning and shaping our Web development function, and managing our team of Web Developers and their workflow.

At Nomensa we produce content-driven websites and digital experiences with an emphasis on accessibility and UX, often for FTSE 500 organisations. We're busy and growing fast and, working closely with our Director of IT and Studio Director, we'll take your lead on how best to stay ahead in as we continue to pioneer in highly accessible digital experiences.

  • Defining and delivering our Web technology roadmap
  • Identifying new concepts and emerging technologies for the team to deliver
  • Leading on our adoption of CI, automation, and relevant aspects of Agile
  • Helping cement our reputation as a leading digital experience agency
  • Driving internal projects such as the building of a front end toolkit
  • Supporting our involvement in the community, e.g. DrupalCamp
About you
  • You bring experience from a busy agency or similar client-focused environment
  • You have proven Web development skills - ideally PHP / Drupal, or Python, with JavaScript - and you champion a culture of good development practices
  • You value others and you're ready to inspire, line manage and grow a multi skilled Web development team
  • You have excellent communication skills, and you're comfortable representing the team
  • You're happy to work with code from time to time; proof of concepts, prototyping, mentoring, code reviews etc.
  • You're happy supporting our work with prospective clients and customers, leading on technical pitches, briefs, costings, forecasting and resource management
