Epimorphics is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer - someone who values delivering easy-to-run and high uptime production services - progressing to lead our Ops function.
 
We're an exciting company at the forefront of open data publication in the UK, often delivering projects in the public eye and which have a positive benefit for society. 
 
We're seeking a practiced Site Reliability / DevOps Engineer to run our live production services; reporting to our CTO, you'll be joined by a new colleague hired next year. This is a newly created position, orchestrating our infrastructure, workflow and live services, with prospect of becoming our lead engineer - building on your strengths and progressing at your pace. 
 
We offer a collaborative and friendly culture, with a flat team structure. You will find us open to your ideas and aspirations, which will go on to shape and become the future of our Ops capabilities, ultimately owning the function and its roadmap.
 
We're managing custom full stack data services, currently using components such as Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka and Apache Jena, plus our own open source and proprietary data tools - built using a mix of Kotlin, Java, Ruby, JavaScript and Python. Our software engineers currently admin their development environments.

We're looking for
  • Someone ready to help inform, shape and run a dependable, attentive, approach to site operations
  • A fast-learner, bringing pragmatism and adaptability
  • A good understanding of CI/CD principles, methods and tooling
  • Solid technical abilities in automation, Linux, and AWS/cloud admin
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes/containers - we can help you get up to speed if this is new to you
