Lead .NET Developer (Corston - near Keynsham / Bath) TL173

SelectScience is hiring for a Lead .NET Developer to advance the Web platform which delivers content for our online publication and which supports our valued community of vendors and subscribers in the scientific community worldwide.

Now is an exciting time to join us as we extend our capabilities, explore the possibility of expanding into new market segments and improve how we create and build our software.

Leading on architecture and coding practices, you will be supported by our Development Team Leader with the backing of a multi-skilled team, collaborating to design, implement and maintain our software and systems.

Example initiatives include
  • Designing and building new e-commerce and transaction capabilities
  • Prototyping a common architecture, reusable for multiple market segments
  • Creating a new api for third party integration
  • Improving and extending our video capabilities
  • Reviewing our development workflow, tooling and automation
  • Exploring the benefit of migrating to the public cloud and implementing a CDN
  • Championing the adoption of relevant Agile, SCRUM and TDD practices
About you
  • You're comfortable leading on roadmap, architectural and design decisions
  • You enjoy coding and some systems work, bringing skills that span the entire technology stack
  • You bring proven skills in developing content driven websites or e-commerce applications
  • You're positive about assessing new technology, and you can articulate business and technology objectives
  • You work well with others and you enjoy guiding less experienced colleagues
